YES (Youth Education Support) International (www.yes.or.ke) is a non-profit organisation for scout friends focused on orphans youth development through education.
YES Foundation:
YES was founded in 2001 in Kenya to respond to the increased needs of the more than 1 million orphans whose lives have been impacted by HIV/AIDS pandemic.
YES Vision:
YES vision is of a leading organisation in a friendly world where leading friends play active support roles to help the orphans become citizens of the world.
YES Mission:
YES mission is to provide policy and the strategic plan for mobilizing and managing the resources available, to contribute to the orphans educationthrough financial, material or technical support to enable them achieve their full potential to make significant contribution to the development of society.
Goal:
YES overall goal is to develop an attractive suport programme that is relevant to the needs and aspirations of the orphan in Africa, to improve their quality of life by;
• fostering relationships to increase understanding among friends
• creating awareness about the orphans issues
• increasing access to health information and services
• increasing access to health information and services
• supporting orphans scouting
• promoting sustainable development
• institutional capacity building and advocacy
YES Priority Areas:
YES priority is in the area of orphans education. Education is development, a right and a great equaliser in terms of bridging social and economic inequalities.
