Scouter Kabao determination to start a Scout based project for helping vulnerable youths was inspired by his meeting Scouter Colin Bennett from Bristol when they first met in Nyeri Town in 13th. Sept. 1999.
Baden Powell once said "...the real way to get happiness is by giving out happiness to other people".
Guided by the Scouting Principles, Scouter Paul Kabao was determined to start a viable youth project in Kenya. This desire started to realise when at one time he was trying to link up with his one time Scout Friend Colin Bennett. But instead of connecting with Scouter Colin, he virtually met Scouter Chris Wilkinson who referred him to Scouter Alan Beavis who later became very supportive towards the foundation of YES. Scouter Chris also passed the e-mail contact for Scouter Colin Bennett who was by then ailing and in a hospice.
Scouter Kabao commitment to use his wide experience, skills and friends lend to the foundation of Youth Education Support (YES) International (www.yes.or.ke) in 2001 in Nairobi Kenya as a unique nonprofit organisation focused on orphans youth education through support through friendship added adventures with an aim to encourage their physical, mental, social and spiritual development. This approach makes a positive difference to the life's of the orphans youth, their communities and the world.
YES Project was symbolically officially launched on 12th. Aug. 2003 in Nairobi Kenya.
Besides Scouting, Mr. Kabao is a Director in an accounting information and support service project. |
