YES SCOUTS FRIEND

YES Scout Friends :

Is a support effort by scout friends committed to develop and promote orphan youths through Scouting.

Adult Scouts who subscribe and agree with the idea and to uphold YES Friends Rules and Regulations may join YES Scout Friends in their own right with a desire to become more involved in YES Project activities.

To associate with YES Scout Friends, you don’t have to be a current member of Scouting to associate, but you will need to become a member of the Scout Movement.

YES Scout Friends aims to increase the finance, material, technical and moral support to the orphan youths in Africa to enable them access formal education and life skills education that will allow them to make a real difference in their lives and for the subsequent generation.

YES Project is very interesting in that YES Scout Friends actively participate in supporting the orphan youths in Africa as they participate in adventure and tours in Africa and other development voluntary services.

YES Scout Friends travel in person or vicariously and thus get to know and understand various cultures and traditions.  In their adventure and tours in Africa, they forge bonds of unity between differing cultures and they end up as global citizens.

YES Scout Friends share knowledge, ideas and experiences and promote international scouting with a particular focus on building friendships with the orphan youths in countries in sub-Saharan Africa region.

YES Scout Friends regularly organise adventure and tours as part of participating and learning about life and culture of the orphan youths in Africa and in many instances, this results in meeting friendly orphans scouts thereby getting an opportunity to establish orphan-scout-friendship

Sustained orphan-scout-friendship often lead to education support and exchange visits to each others country.

YES Scout Friends are a wealthy in the scouting spirit and they take active responsibility to support the orphan youths in crisis across country, community or religion divide to beat the global AIDS emergency and extreme poverty.  Their desire is to participate in making HIV/AIDS pandemic and extreme poverty history in Africa.

YES Scout Friends actively participate in resolving the social problems affecting Africa and especially extend the scouting hand of friendship to the orphan youths to provide support that empowers them meet their basic needs.

By leveraging the communication power of the internet, YES Scout Friends communicate far, wide and deeply with each other.  They exchange friendly letters using the internet, e-mails, radios, letters and publications to touch the lives of the orphan youths they have supported.   Many online friendships are made and maintained in this manner.  Where necessary, YES assists with the translation.

Through sustained friendship, YES Scout Friends often surprise the orphan youths with e-mail messages, cards, education support offers, adoption or graphic gifts, but most importantly they extend the Scout hand of friendship.

The relationship between YES Orphans and YES Scout Friends provides a sustainable and powerful infrastructure to promote policy, programme and active support for other orphans youths in Africa.

YES Project is therefore a historic and good opportunity for all YES Scout Friends to use their greatness, wealth and influence in their day to day life to help the needy orphans in Africa.
